In 2008 we visited family in Townsville, Australia and were introduced to a business which we fell in love with, selling an array of Turkish and middle eastern homewares. The business owners Osman and Anne, have grown to be very good friends. They encouraged us to take the punt and take some stock and try to sell it here in New Zealand.

That introduction was to change our lives. We were thinking of retiring but being used to a busy life already we leapt at the chance to do this.

We are only a boutique business but supply the widest range of top quality Turkish and Mediterranean homewares, gifts, jewellery, fabrics, bedspreads, throws, cushions, kilim and classic style, traditional mosaic lamps and lighting ,furniture, ceramics and copper. We supply modern replica or antique items in most of our stock.

Osman and Anne advised us on retailing and supplied us with our first stock shipments. From there they introduced us to many people in Turkey who have become good friends and suppliers/business associates. We now travel back to Turkey to purchase our own stock and travel the country, spending time with our friends, gives us time to indulge our passion for learning the history, culture of this wonderful country.

This gives us more time to interact with the people of Turkey who are a proud ,honourable and extremely friendly people.

Our business is tucked away in the “Poverty Bay Club” a turn of the century building in Childers Rd, Gisborne for over two years now. There are other boutique businesses, bar and café, movie theatre within the same building. We have built up a wonderful niche business over the past two years and the business has become very successful with regular clients now local and all over the country and beyond.
